Whitney M. Untiedt
Whitney Untiedt leads UD’s trial practice, representing victims of medical malpractice and complex injuries, and families mourning the loss of a loved one, throughout the State of Florida and across the country. Whitney is committed to excellent client service and takes an active role in managing every stage of the case from pre-suit investigation through settlement or trial.
Whitney has significant legal experience in a wide range of areas, including complex civil litigation and appellate practice, and previously served as a trial lawyer at a premier boutique firm. Before that, Whitney was the national pro bono partner at an AmLaw100 firm, a managing attorney at a Florida public defender’s office, and taught at the University of Florida Levin College of Law and Warrington College of Business.
Whitney has received numerous accolades during her career, including being named to Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and Florida Trend Legal Elite. Her trial victories have been recognized in Top 50 Wrongful Death Verdicts (2021) and Top 100 Verdicts In Florida (2022). Additionally, Whitney has authored multiple articles and is a frequent speaker on topics of civil justice, trial advocacy, and professionalism.
Whitney is demonstrably committed to serving her community and profession. She is a Trustee for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and has trained thousands of lawyers in the U.S., Europe, and Africa as a member of the NITA faculty. She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Constitution Society’s South Florida chapter and Planned Parenthood of South, East, and North Florida, and holds several leadership roles in The Florida Bar, including membership on the Executive Council of the Trial Lawyers Section and the Code & Rules of Evidence Committee. Whitney served as Co-Chair of the 2023 Florida Bar Annual Convention.
When not practicing law, Whitney can usually be found outdoors. An avid traveler, she enjoys hiking, SCUBA diving, and spending time with friends and family.
